About Alison

As a seasoned professional in child engagement and education, I have dedicated over thirty years to empowering students, parents, and teachers by facilitating workshops aimed at dismantling bias and fostering connection between diverse groups. In my work, I've come to realize that even thinking patterns believed to be ingrained can be modified. This process of 'unlearning' established thought processes is a transformative journey of discovery and personal growth.

Fast forward to 2002, the year I became a mother. With my experience in engaging children, I entered parenthood with preconceived notions about it and the children I would raise. However, the reality was quite different. My three children took me on an unexpected journey full of surprises. Navigating through learning differences, varied personalities, cultural pressures, and the nuances of the digital era, I drastically altered my approach to parenting. This practice of 'unlearning' has shaped me into a more aware, connected, and confident mother and person.

Motivated by my experiences in parenting, I furthered my academic endeavors. I achieved the PCI Parent Coaching Certification®, a comprehensive masters’s equivalent program. My interest in diverse learning and behavioral patterns also led me to acquire a Behavioral Consultant certification from the Fitzgerald Institute. This training has empowered me to aid parents and educators in fostering a more peaceful and balanced environment for children, whether at home, in school, or in the community. In addition to these qualifications, I hold a Master's degree in Education from Boston University.

Being a parent has been central to my identity for over two decades and remains the utmost joy of my life.
